Mexican Police and Army Rescue 25 Kidnap Victims Near Texas Border

Mexican police and army troops in Tamaulipas, Mexico rescued 25 Mexicans, who were kidnapped at a hotel in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

Mexican state authorities were notified about the group of Mexican immigrants trying to cross over to the United States.

They say that family members were the ones to inform them, the relatives then received calls ordering them to send money in order to release the victims.

The Tamaulipas state anti-kidnapping department found the place where the 25 people were being held.

With help from the army they rescued the victims, but no suspects were detained.

Investigations show that family members of those kidnapped deposited 10 to 20 thousand pesos in bank accounts trying to get their loved ones back.

Nuevo Laredo, Mexico is just across the border from Laredo, Texas.
