South Dakota State Trooper Shot in Ambush, 2 Suspects Arrested

South Dakota Highway Patrol Sgt. John Koenig was shot during a standoff in Kimball.

According to a press release, 42-year-old Donald London and Michael Landon barricaded themselves at a residence in Kimball Wednesday afternoon. Donald London called law enforcement and began to threaten them over the phone.

When authorities tried to make contact with London, a shot was fired from the residence hitting Sgt. John Koenig. The trooper sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
