A 56-year-old man who had been out on bail was arrested Friday after he was allegedly found with an illegal firearm and methamphetamine, police said today.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Williams and Bardin roads shortly after 4 p.m. Friday on a man, later identified Felix Margarito Soto, police said.
Soto allegedly had an illegal semi-automatic pistol and an ounce of methamphetamine, according to police.
He was arrested and booked into Monterey County Jail, police said.
Soto had been out of bail from an arrest in November 2014 when members of the Police Department’s violence suppression unit served a search warrant at his home on Williams Road, police said.
While serving the warrant, officers had found Soto allegedly in possession of two illegal firearms, according to police.
Officers also found Soto allegedly in possession of an inert, illegal hand grenade in addition to a large amount of narcotics for sale when they searched the home, police said.
