Fights Break Out Between Texas City Police Shooting Protesters and Pro-Police Demonstrators

A confrontation broke out in front of Texas City Police Department between a crowd protesting the shooting of man by a police officer and pro-police demonstrators. (story continued below video)

Suspect Carlton Smith, 20, was shot and killed by Texas City police officer Christopher Ham outside HT’s lounge early Friday morning.

Police say Smith was pointing a gun at them when Ham shot him. An autopsy showed he was shot five times: once in his left shoulder, once on his left side, once on his left upper chest, and twice in the face (one wound to the cheek, and one to the chin).
