Chicago police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance regarding a strong-arm robbery incident which occurred on December 7, 2014 at approximately 3:08 p.m. on the southbound CTA Redline train between the 47th Street and Garfield Boulevard stops.
As the train was in motion, one of four male black offenders approached the 21-year-old victim and solicited a donation for a basketball team. The victim complied and gave the offender five dollars. The offender was not satisfied with the donation amount and became irate, harassing the victim for more money.
When the victim refused to increase his donation, the offender began to batter the victim and stole his I-POD. At this point, the other three offenders joined the fray and one of them reached into the victim’s pocket and stole his U.S.C.
The offenders then fled at the 55th Street stop.
