Four teens believed to be responsible for vandalizing numerous inflatable Christmas decorations adorning yards throughout Antioch and Brentwood over the weekend have been arrested, police said today.
Antioch police Chief Allan Cantando said both his department and Brentwood police received several reports of vandalism to inflatable decorations in residents’ yards over the weekend.
Cantando credited residents who came forward with tips and surveillance footage in at least one case to help police track the suspects.
A video of one of the incidents on Saturday night at a home on Begonia Drive shows a boy running up to the front yard of a home and slashing what appears to be an inflatable snowman.
Four teenage boys were arrested and later confessed to the crimes, the chief said.
“These arrests are just another great example of the partnership between diligent residents who take an active role in being aware of what goes on in their neighborhood and law enforcement,” Cantando said in a statement.
