Walnut Creek police are looking for a man who threatened a store clerk with a gun and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of cash on Saturday, police said today. Police responded to a report at 5:15 p.m. of a robbery that had just happened at a Safeway grocery store, located at 600 S. Broadway, police said. The suspect reportedly presented the cashier with a note that said he was armed and demanded money. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The employee was not injured during the incident, police said.
Police described the man as a light-skinned black man in his 20’s, roughly 5-feet 10-inches tall, with a short mustache, shoulder-length hair and a medium build. He was wearing a gray and black baseball hat, a black pea coat, a white shirt and blue jeans.
