Leon County, Florida Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Smith shot and killed by a man who set his own house on fire. The gunman identified as Curtis Wade Holley laid in wait as deputy Smith and another deputy arrived on scene. Holley then shot both deputies, killing Deputy Smith.

Holley was later shot and killed in a gun battle with police, including an off-duty officer who lived nearby and went to the aid of the deputies.

Authorities said Holley held “anti-government, anti-establishment” views and had previously threatened law enforcement.

  • To My Oath Keeper Brothers This Is A Sure Sign That The Republic And The Union Of States Is Getting Ready For War With A Corrupt Government And You Are On The Front Lines. The Time As Come You As Deputy’s And State, And Local Police Must Decide To Adhere To Your Oaths Or Become The Shock Troops For Agenda 21 And Enforce The Laws Of Criminals… The Worst Thing To See Is A Patriot Killing A Patriot And Your Time Grows Short. Sorry For This Loss Thank You For Your Service Sir

  • I am so very sorry for your loss. You folks risk so much for the good people of Leon County every day. We really appreciate you. I still own my house there, even though I live in Las Vegas now. But while I was home in Tally, I always felt safe, knowing TPD and LCSO were just minutes away. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
