Police are investigating a shooting that left possibly two victims injured in Salinas Tuesday evening. The 27-year-old victim was walking in the 700 block of Kilbreth Avenue around 6:10 p.m. when two men between the ages of 18 to 20 confronted him, police said. One of the suspects yelled something at the victim, took out a semiautomatic handgun and shot multiple rounds at him while chasing him south on Kilbreth Avenue, according to police.
Four parked vehicles were struck by the gunfire, police said. Police received reports that the victim was possibly with another person when he was confronted, but officers have been unable to locate a potential second victim. The one known victim suffered several gunshot wounds not considered life-threatening and was uncooperative with police. The incident is being investigated as a gang-related shooting, according to police.
