Officers arrested a man in Petaluma Monday for resisting an officer and for violation of probation, according to a Petaluma police spokesman. Nathan Hanoum, 34, from Rohnert Park, was brought to the police’s attention by citizens who said he was acting strangely while possibly being under the influence of a narcotic, Petaluma police Sgt. Ron Klein said.
Responding officers found Hanoum near a Putnam Plaza Starbucks yelling and acting erratically, and when they attempted to contact him, he fled on foot southward down Petaluma Boulevard. Hanoum was stopped at C and Second streets by an officer in a vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. Hanoum was booked into Sonoma County Jail without bail due to his probation. No one was injured in this incident.
