Police are investigating a suspicious incident Saturday involving a man and a 2-year-old girl that occurred inside a South San Francisco Costco. Police said the incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. inside the Costco at 1600 Camino Real Highway. Police said the unidentified man approached the girl in a shopping aisle, patted her head and said, “Come over here” while making a circular motion with his right hand.

The girl’s mother was within 15 feet of the girl when this occurred. Police said the man immediately walked away from the girl when he noticed her mother nearby, and he left the store without purchasing anything.

The case is being investigated as a child annoyance incident.

The man is described as being in his 40s, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build, dark collar-length hair thinning on the top and a mustache. He was wearing a dark gray or blue jacket with lighter gray panels and a black inner lining, lighter colored pants and black shoes.
