Two men have been arrested in connection with a Millbrae residential burglary in which a resident was injured, but a third suspect remains at large, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
The burglary was discovered on Oct. 13 when residents of a home in the 200 block of Loyola Drive came home and found three men ransacking their master bedroom, officials said.
When the homeowners confronted the suspects, they fled and knocked one of the residents, a 68-year-old woman, to the ground. The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, while the suspects escaped with a small amount of jewelry. They were last seen fleeing in a gray Infiniti FX35 north on Loyola Drive and then east on Murchison Drive.
On Oct. 15, investigators arrested Vidal Torres, a 24-year-old Oakland resident, at a Quarry Road job site in San Carlos. Torres was arrested on suspicion of burglary with a gang enhancement, felony elder abuse, theft from the elderly, criminal conspiracy, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
On Oct. 29 detectives arrested Jorge Vargas, a 20-year-old Redwood City resident, at his family home on a $250,000 arrest warrant. Vargas was arrested on suspicion of burglary with a gang enhancement and elder abuse.
A third suspect remains at large.
