Officers are investigating a homicide that left one man dead after a shooting in Downtown San Jose Thursday evening, a police spokesman said. Police received information about shots fired and a person down near Santa Clara and 2nd Street around 11:35 p.m., according to San Jose police spokesman Albert Morales.
Responding officers found a man suffering from at least gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Morales said. The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting at this time. The unidentified suspect or suspects have not been located and remain at large, according to Morales.
