Two men armed with a knife robbed a 42-year-old South San Francisco resident with a knife on Sunday, police said today. The victim was filling up water bottles at a water vending machine in the 800 block of Linden Avenue when the suspects asked him for a dollar, according to police. When he gave them a dollar, the suspects asked him for more. When he refused, the suspects threatened him with a knife. The threat forced the victim to give up his remaining money, and the suspects fled with two others in what is described as a four-door, dark blue car, possibly a Toyota Corolla.
The car was last seen traveling north on Linden Avenue towards Hillside Boulevard. Police described the suspects who robbed the resident as Hispanic men 18 to 21 years old, weighing around 150 pounds, with slender builds. One is described as wearing a baggy white T-shirt over a black T-shirt, blue jeans, a dark-colored baseball cap, sunglasses, gloves and a metal necklace. Police describe the other as wearing a black jacket over a red T-shirt with a logo, black pants and white shoes. As of today, South San Francisco police do not have any suspects in custody. Police are currently identifying and interviewing witnesses and locating surveillance video, said Sgt. Tom Neary, spokesman, South San Francisco police.
