Two men were arrested in Antioch Monday for cultivating large amounts of marijuana in a local house, police said. Officers initially responded to a residence in the 4600 block of Imperial Street around 3 p.m. on a report of a possible marijuana growing operation, according to Antioch police Sgt. Michael Mortimer. Lam Doan, 39, and Phong Ly, 41, both of San Jose, were seen fleeing from the residence once the officers arrived.

Doan and Ly were soon arrested nearby while officers discovered that the house was completely converted into an illicit marijuana cultivation operation, Mortimer said. Investigators seized a total of 590 marijuana plants from the home. Investigations into this case are still being conducted by Antioch police.
