Early last week, six year-old Victor of Spokane, Washington noticed something amiss from his front porch. Someone had stolen his beloved Halloween pumpkin, a pumpkin he spent 45 minutes picking out. Victor, a child with special needs, was devastated that someone would do such a thing.

Spokane Police Officer Dion Mason heard about Victor’s loss, and swooped in to help. Mason went out and picked out not one, but three perfect pumpkins and personally delivered them to Victor at his home.

Victor was elated, calling the police his heroes, and thanking them for “saving the day!”

We couldn’t agree with Victor more – Officer Mason is a hero, and a true credit to the law enforcement community.

  • Officer Dion Mason was so kind to our little guy. Victor was so happy to have his stolen pumpkins replaced. It was so very kind of Officer Mason and we will always be grateful for the extra efforts that he made. It has been almost two years and Victor still talks about it! What a difference one officer can make in a child’s life. Thank you again Officer Mason. Sincerely, Amy, Mike, & Victor Warren.
