A theft investigation led to the arrest of a 34-year-old man in Petaluma on Thursday, police said. Detectives from the Sonoma County Auto Theft Task Force, county probation officers and Petaluma police were looking into recent cargo trailer thefts, police said.

They responded to the 700 block of Petaluma Boulevard South where they searched the property and found items linked to a theft of a cargo trailer that happened in north end of the city, according to police.

Investigators were also able to link the property to a theft near Petaluma Poultry in the 2700 block of Lakeville Highway, police said. As a result of their investigation, Petaluma resident Jose Manuel Martinez was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and violation of parole, according to police.
