Officers arrested three men suspected of burglarizing a residence in Hayward Thursday morning, police said. The incident was first reported to officers when a neighbor called in a suspicious vehicle parked outside of a house in the 2600 block of Warwick Place at 10:00 a.m., according to Hayward police. The neighbor observed two men exit the car and enter the backyard of the home while a driver remained in the car apparently on look-out. The men returned to the car a short time later, police said.
The neighbor also indicated that the owners of the residence were not home, and that they did not recognize the men who entered the property. After obtaining a vehicle description from the neighbor, officers observed the vehicle traveling on Oaks Drive and conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Campus Drive, according to police. All three males in the car were detained for investigation as officers determined that burglary to the residence had occurred.
Once the vehicle and the suspects were positively identified as being involved in the burglary, all stolen items were returned to the residence, police said. Booked on charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary were Edgar Wayne Hatton, 22, of Antioch, Aaron Mosell Jones, 19, of Hayward, and Alfred Trey Taylor, 25, of Oakland.
