Police say a woman called for help, saying she was being held captive and thought someone was going to kill her, but when officers got to room 167, bullets started flying.
“As they approached the door and made their way to that location, they were met by gunfire coming from the room,” Oklahoma City Police Capt. Dexter Nelson said. “Two of those officers were shot.”
Suspect Shane Leon Rhea, grabbed another woman from inside the room in a headlock and used her as a human shield as he fled through the parking lot and tried to carjack a getaway car from passing motorists.
Officers tried to stop Rhea but were unsuccessful. That’s when Rha shot and killed the woman.
Police then shot Rhea.
