A man was shot and another was stabbed during a fight in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood early this morning, police said. The fight was reported at 1:11 a.m. in the 400 block of Broadway Street.

The victims, ages 26 and 21, were in a fight with two other men when one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the 26-year-old in the stomach, police said. The second suspect then stabbed the 21-year-old man in the back and face. Both victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries considered life-threatening, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

Officers initially detained two suspects but released them pending further investigation, Esparza said.
