Santa Rosa police released a photo today of a woman suspected of stealing purses at several elementary schools in the past two weeks, a police sergeant said. The burglaries occurred during school hours at the Matanzas, Sequoia, Schaffer, Village and Steele Lane elementary schools and the Santa Rosa Charter School on Humboldt Street, Sgt. Phil Brazis said.

The latest theft occurred at the Piner-Olivet Elementary School Tuesday, Brazis said. Police have determined credit cards taken from the purses have been used at local stores, Brazis said. Santa Rosa police and the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the burglaries, and both are concerned that the crimes are being committed when school children and staff are present, Brazis said. The white female adult was captured on a video where at least one of the burglaries occurred, Brazis said.
