Salinas police are seeking two men who entered a small market Tuesday morning armed with handguns and robbed the store and a clerk. Police were notified at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday about a pair of armed men who robbed the Corner Market at 497 E. Alisal St. of cash, as well as a store clerk of his personal property, according to police Cmdr. Henry Gomez.
The suspects wore hooded sweatshirts and appeared to have their faces covered when they came into the business and confronted the clerk, Gomez said. After the robbery, the two men got into a beige BMW car and were last seen driving north on North Madeira Avenue, police said.
Both suspects were described as Hispanic men, one 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds and the other 5 feet 7 inches tall with a thin build, Gomez said.
