Police are at the scene of a fatal shooting in South San Jose tonight, a police spokeswoman said. Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Azucar Avenue near Roeder Road around 9:20 p.m., police Sgt. Heather Randol said.

Arriving officers found a man shot and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Randol said. The Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the death, she said. No arrests were made and the suspect or suspects remain at large, according to Randol.

The death marks the city’s 29th homicide this year, Randol said.
