Police have identified Jose Luis Gramajo, 23, of San Rafael as the man who allegedly shot a man in the head in San Rafael Thursday afternoon. The 22-year-old victim was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition Thursday, San Rafael police Lt. Dan Fink said. Fink said there was a physical fight between an occupant of a vehicle and a pedestrian around 4:40 p.m. on Novato Street.
At some point the shooting victim got back in the vehicle and as the vehicle started to leave the pedestrian, identified by police as Gramajo, shot into the vehicle, Fink said. The victim involved in the fight was struck in the head, and another occupant of the vehicle showed up at the San Rafael Police Department with a grazing wound to the shoulder, Fink said. Gramajo was identified as the shooter and is wanted for attempted murder. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
