A man in Ramona, California, was caught on surveillance camera throwing a Pit Bull puppy over a fence.
It’s amazing the dog wasn’t injured after such a rough fall. Animal Service officials are left wondering why someone would even do that to the canine.
Today, the dog is safe and sound in the care of Animal Control, but how 6-month-old Dolly ended up abandoned behind a Ramona business is still a mystery.
Surveillance video shows Dolly following a man around the corner of a commercial building on D street. Another camera captures the man picking up Dolly and throwing her over a fence. She takes hard fall on her back. Thankfully, she isn’t hurt. The video then shows the man walking away.
“Dolly was very lucky, I am surprised she wasn’t injured, it was quit an extensive fall, at least it looks that way,” said Lt. Mitchell Levy with Carlsbad Animal Services.
The Pit Bull was discovered the next day and turned over to Animal Services in Carlsbad.
The woman who owns the business posted the video to Facebook in hopes of finding the man responsible.
“If it was someone’s dog and they didn’t want it, they could have brought to us. It doesn’t make a lot of sense, maybe there is an explanation for why he did what he did,” said Lt. Levy.
According to Lt. Levy, if a case is filed against the man, he could face animal abandonment charges or a misdemeanor for animal cruelty charges.
In the meantime, Dolly is ready for a new family and a new home.
“A lot of energy, needs some love, some attention, and some training, but she is going to be a great dog,” said Lt. Levy.
