A 39-year-old Bay Point man has been charged with a slew of felony charges in connection with the alleged molestation of three boys, according to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. Ronald DeGuzman pleaded not guilty in a Martinez courtroom on Friday to 14 felony counts and three misdemeanors including six counts of lewd acts on a child, six counts of distributing or showing lewd material to a child and two counts of oral copulation of a minor, according to the district attorney’s office.
DeGuzman remains in custody in county jail in Martinez on $4.25 million bail. The Bay Point man turned himself in to sheriff’s deputies on Sept. 9. Investigators served a search warrant at DeGuzman’s Bay Point home and issued a warrant for his arrest learning about the alleged molestation in August. Sheriff’s officials say the defendant allegedly met the victims at churches in central and east Contra Costa County. An investigation into the case is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call.
