Jessica Arrendale, 33, went out with her husband Antoine Davis, 30, on Saturday night. According to the exclusive report from WSB Radio the former Marine who served in Iraq became, “became belligerently drunk and abusive.” Her mother said that this was not the first time.
Police say that Davis chased Arrendale up the stairs of their three story town home. She tried to defend herself with a baseball bat but she was overpowered by the former serviceman. He struck her several times with the bat.
Arrendale then locked herself in the bathroom. That is when Davis got his assault rifle. He burst into the room and shot her in the head. Arrendale was still holding her 6-month-old in her arms.
Investigators are not quite sure how she did it. The mother was able to twist her body in such a way that the infant dropped into the water filled toilet bowl. Her body fell to protect the baby. That is where the infant remained for the next 13 hours.
Police were reluctant to enter the home. The SWAT team was in a stand-off at the home and sent a robot in to sweep the location. They were cautious because they were concerned that their actions could spark violence. They didn’t know that everyone inside the home was dead. Investigators believe Davis shot Arrendale in the head, then shot himself.
