Officers Sunday evening responded to a report of an armed robbery at a residence in Santa Rosa and found one of the home’s occupants with a gunshot wound, according to police. The report came from a home in the 3700 block of Finley Avenue at 10:08 p.m., police said.
Upon arrival police learned that around eight males wearing masks had robbed the residents. The men were armed with guns as they ransacked the residence looking for property, police said. Evidence at the scene indicated that the robbers were looking for marijuana, according to police.
The victim shot during the robbery, a 23-year-old man, suffered from a non-fatal gunshot wound and was treated at a local hospital. No other tenants were seriously injured, police said. This is the third case where a person has been shot in a marijuana related incident in Santa Rosa since August 31, according to police.
