Merrillville Police Officer Nickolaus Schultz Shot on Disturbance Call, In Critical Condition

Merrillville Police Department Officer Nickolaus Schultz, 24, was shot on Friday night after he responded to a condominium complex after a report on an evicted resident who had returned to the complex.

Police said the suspect shot at the officers as they forced their way into the complex. Officer Schultz was shot once in the head, according to police.
