Police are looking for a man caught on video robbing a Fremont Walgreens store Monday night.
The robbery happened at about 10:40 p.m. at the Walgreens at Fremont Boulevard and Decoto Road, police said.
The suspect handed a clerk inside a note demanding money and claiming he had a gun, though no gun was visible. The clerk handed him cash and he left, running toward Decoto Road, police said.
Police acquired video surveillance of the robber and described the suspect as a man about 25 years old, possibly of Middle Eastern descent, who stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds.
He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark sunglasses, tan shorts and covered his face with a bandana.
A suspect in a similar robbery of a gas station earlier in the weekend was arrested shortly after the robbery.
That robbery happened at the Union 76 gas station at 4190 Mowry Ave. at about 5:20 p.m. Friday, police said.
A suspect with a knife robbed the store and fled in a vehicle, but the store clerk followed him outside and broke the rear window of the robber’s car with his hand.
The clerk also took down the robber’s license plate number and police tracked the car to the suspect’s residence, where a 29-year-old Fremont resident was arrested at his front door.
