A man and woman who fled police in a vehicle pursuit in Salinas Tuesday morning are still at large, Salinas Police Department said.

Officers attempted to pull over a white Chevrolet Malibu around 7:40 a.m. at North Main Street and East Laurel Drive.

The car did not yield to police sirens and sped away trying to evade the pursuant officer, according to police.

The vehicle crashed through the gates of a ranch off of Old Stage Road and continued eluding police on dirt pathways through the property, police said.

The vehicle was eventually found abandoned several miles from the ranch.

One woman was taken into custody and later released after it was determined she had no involvement in the incident.

The unidentified man and woman in the white Chevrolet Malibu are still outstanding, according to police.
