Pikeville, N.C. — Deputies of Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are looking for a couple wanted for alleged child abuse and a statewide alert has been issued.

Christian Amanda Tomeski, of 2020 Rosson Drive in Pikeville, took her two-year-old son to a pediatric clinic for bruises on his head, ears and neck.

An examination determined the injuries were a result of physical abuse, investigators said.

The boy was taken to Moore Regional Hospital by his grandfather.

Tomeski, and her boyfriend, Thomas John Strickland, also of Rosson Drive, told investigators they were the child’s only caregivers but denied harming him.
