BART police have arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of stabbing another man during an argument in the bus zone at the Bay Fair BART station Saturday night. Cole Chaquan Wright, of Berkeley, allegedly stabbed the victim in a torso after getting into a verbal dispute, according to BART police Lt. Terence McCarty. Wright and the victim did not previously know each other, McCarty said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries and released, McCarty said. The victim was able to provide a good description of the suspect to BART police, according to BART spokesman Jim Allison. BART police were also able to identify Wright based on interviews with people who frequent the area, Allison said. A BART detective spotted suspect Wright on Thursday while patrolling Bay Fair station and arrested him without incident, Allison said.
