Two Gun Battles Breakout in East Oakland

Two gun battles were reported within blocks and minutes of each other in East Oakland on Sunday afternoon, according to police. Officers first responded at 4:27 p.m. to reports of two armed suspects shooting at each other in the 8700 block of Hillside Street, according to police.

Then at 4:30 p.m., three suspects were reported to be shooting at each other about eight blocks away in the 2200 block of 82nd Avenue, police said. The suspects fled in two cars and had not been found as of this morning, police said. Investigators did not specify whether the two shootings are believed to be related No one was injured by the gunfire.
