California Highway Patrol officers caught a Southern California man allegedly transporting more than four pounds of marijuana for sale during a speed enforcement operation Friday morning on U.S. Highway 101 near Petaluma.
A speed enforcement team monitored a stretch of the roadway near Pepper Road between 6:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., according to the CHP.
During the operation officers cited 57 drivers for speeding.
One of the drivers stopped, identified as 28-year-old Jason Weiss of Irvine, was allegedly found with more than four pounds of marijuana packaged for sale and was arrested, according to the CHP.
The effort was funded by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety.
