The family of a man shot multiple times and killed on August 2 outside a store in South San Jose asked Friday for the public to donate funds to help with expenses since his loss, police said. Relatives of 33-year-old Santrius Romel Lawrence Sr., of San Jose, are devastated by his death, according to police spokesman Officer Albert Morales. The San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working “tirelessly on this investigation,” Morales said in statement.

Those wanting to donate funds to Lawrence’s family may do so at Wells Fargo Bank, care of Santrius Romel Lawrence Sr., account number 6149450196.

Police received an emergency call at 1:39 a.m. on August 2 about a person shot near a 7-Eleven store in the area of Monterey Road and Edenview Drive in South San Jose, according to police. Officers located Lawrence there, suffering from a number of gunshot wounds. He died at the scene a short time later, police said.
