Aurelio Pena-lemus Dies After Stabbing In Vacaville

Police are reviewing surveillance camera video from a nearby apartment complex as part of their investigation into a fatal stabbing in central Vacaville on Thursday.

Aurelio Pena-Lemus, 22, of Vacaville, was unresponsive and suffering from a stab wound to the chest when he arrived at NorthBay VacaValley Hospital, where he was taken by a friend around 7:10 p.m. Thursday, Lt. Matt Lydon said.

Pena-Lemus had been stabbed near Markham Avenue north of Vineyard Valley Way and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7:25 p.m., Lydon said.

The stabbing is the city’s first homicide of year, police said.
