Man and Woman Arrested in Alleged Stolen Car After Police Pursuit in Petaluma

A man and a woman were arrested in Petaluma on Saturday night after attempting to flee from police in a stolen vehicle, police said. According to police, a vehicle parked in front of a convenience store in the 800 block of Petaluma Boulevard North was reported stolen at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. A short while later, a Petaluma police officer saw the stolen vehicle on Ellis Street.

Police said a short vehicle pursuit ensued and that the driver ran multiple red lights and traveled at excessive speeds in an attempt to evade the officer. The vehicle finally stopped and the driver and passenger surrendered at the intersection of Caulfield Lane and Payran Street, police said.

The driver, Henry Gomez Flores, 32, and the passenger, Roxanne Maryse Cate, 23, both of Sacramento, were arrested for theft of the vehicle. Flores was additionally charged with felony evasion and DUI, according to police. Both were booked into Sonoma County Jail.
