Marin County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Vallejo man Wednesday for allegedly shooting and injuring a man in Marin City last weekend.

Matthew David Rainey, 28, is suspected of shooting a 33-year-old man three times around 11:50 p.m. Sunday in the Cole Drive and Drake Avenue area of Marin City, sheriff’s Sgt. Nina Snyder said.

The victim was bleeding from the face and body when sheriff’s deputies arrived and he was treated for the gunshot wounds at a hospital, Snyder said.

Rainey has ties to Marin City and his residence in Vallejo was searched, Lt. Keith Boyd said. He was arrested at the sheriff’s office’s headquarters at 1600 Los Gamos Drive, according to the Marin County jail booking log.

Rainey was booked Wednesday under $500,000 bail on suspicion of attempted murder.
