Police in Belmont are investigating a series of package thefts that occurred earlier this week in a residential neighborhood, police said Thursday.

According to Belmont police, packages were stolen from the front porches of homes in the 2500 and 2800 blocks of Hallmark Drive, and a home on Waterloo Court at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The home on Waterloo Court was equipped with a video surveillance camera, and police were able to determine the time of the theft and obtain a photo of the suspect.

The suspect is described by police as a light-skinned male of medium height and weight with short dark hair, clean-shaven and wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.

Different companies delivered all three packages and the packages were from different stores, police said.

Police said the suspect was driving a dark gray Toyota Prius or similar car, and was likely driving around the neighborhood looking for packages left on front porches.
