Police have identified one of the suspects in an attack outside San Francisco’s AT&T Park Thursday evening that left a woman unconscious.

Police arrested Francisco Lopez, 32, in Sacramento later Thursday night on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy after he fled the scene with a second suspect, who is still at large, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The female victim, who tried to intervene in a fight that broke out shortly after a game between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics at 5:50 p.m. on Second and King streets, was knocked unconscious and transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment.

The two male suspects apparently got into an argument with the victims, and one suspect punched a 28-year-old man in the face, according to police.

The 27-year-old woman tried to break up the fight, and one of the suspects punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious, police said.

“When you’re with your friends, you want to stop an attack or break up a fight,” Esparza said. “That’s human nature.”

The woman is expected to recover, and the male victim suffered chipped teeth from the attack, police said.

Police were able to locate Lopez using the address associated with the registration of a truck, Esparza said.

Police believe the suspects and victims did not know each other, and the conflict was not related to team rivalries, Esparza said. Police don’t know whether the suspects went to the baseball game.

“You come to a game to have fun; you don’t come to be the victim of a crime,” Esparza said.

Police are still searching for the second suspect and are investigating whether there is any video footage of the attack from surveillance cameras.
