A Salinas man was sentenced to 180 days in Monterey County Jail for driving under the influence of a drug and child endangerment, Monterey County prosecutors said Tuesday.
Pablo Arechiga, 20, was found guilty by a jury and was sentenced by Judge Lydia Villareal, Monterey County District Attorney Dean Flippo said.
On March 24, a Monterey County sheriff’s deputy saw Arechiga behind the wheel weaving on San Miguel Canyon Road with a 14-year-old boy in the vehicle, Flippo said.
Arechiga was later found to have alcohol, marijuana and cocaine in his system, according to Flippo.
He was uncooperative and combative with officers and refused to take any field sobriety tests and drug recognition examinations, Flippo said.
