Police have arrested one of two suspects in a home invasion robbery and assault this morning in East San Jose that ended when a suspect crashed a stolen vehicle into a home, police said.

At 4:04 a.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol asked for assistance from San Jose police after a vehicle they were chasing crashed into a home in the area of Singleton Lane and Senter Road, San Jose police Officer Albert Morales said.

A juvenile was taken into custody at the scene of the crash and a second suspect fled the area, according to Morales.

Dispatchers informed police that the vehicle in the crash matched the description of one stolen during a home invasion robbery about 10 minutes earlier in the 1500 block of Sunshadow Lane.

Police responding to the home invasion on Sunshadow Lane interviewed two victims who said that two suspects entered the home, assaulted one of them and then stole their vehicle, police said.

Police were able to confirm with the CHP that the vehicle that struck the home on Singleton Lane was the one stolen from the residence on Sunshadow Lane, Morales said.

The person who was assaulted in the home invasion was transported to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Police booked the juvenile suspect into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall and are searching for the other suspect, Morales said.
