Police arrested a San Mateo resident on suspicion of burglarizing a Hillsborough home early Monday morning, police said.
Police received a report of a residential burglary early Monday morning and discovered belongings had been stolen from a vehicle parked in the resident’s driveway.
The suspect also found a garage door opener inside the vehicle and used it to gain access to the garage, then burglarized the first floor of the residence, police said.
An investigation of the burglary quickly led police to a suspect in San Mateo. A search warrant was executed at a residence on Fallon Avenue in San Mateo at about noon Monday, police said.
Members of the Hillsborough and San Mateo police departments worked together to locate and arrest the suspect, identified as Isaias Hernandez.
When they arrested Hernandez, officers found stolen property belonging to the Hillsborough resident, police said.
