In March 2013, Ralph Isaac Morteo, 26, allegedly beat his 25-year-old girlfriend in their residence in the 600 block of East Highland Boulevard, and told her, “The only way you are leaving is in a body bag.”
The victim escaped after Morteo fell asleep, but law enforcement officers were unable to locate him at that time. Morteo was sent to prison to serve a two-year sentence on a felony drug charge and was released from prison on March 16, 2014. On May 14, 2014, a grand jury indicted Morteo for Aggravated Assault-Serious Bodily Injury. A warrant was then issued for his arrest, but we have not been able to locate him.
Morteo is a documented member of the Tango Orejon gang and has numerous tattoos, including the initials “SA” below his left eye. He has a lengthy criminal history, incluidng assaulting a public servant, resisting arrest, theft, family violence and narcotics charges.
