Five members of the Perry family allegedly attacked two police officers after security guards at a New Hampshire amusement park told them to leave their knives in the car, police said Tuesday.

Some of the family members had knives on their belts and were told they couldn’t bring them into the park, police said.

After refusing to obey repeated warnings, officer told one of the family members he was under arrest and tried to handcuff him. That’s when the family assaulted the officers by punching and kicking them and trying to take their weapons police said.

Other citizens came to the officers aid and backup officers arrived and helped arrest the family, police said.

  • Weapons do not belong in an amusement park. Why would you even think to bring knives to an amusement park. The guards were smart and had every right to insist they not bring weapons into the park. The judge needs to “throw the book” at this family. These parents are extremely poor examples for their children.
