Jail Escapee Stabs Bensalem Police Officer

Bensalem police report that Inmate Matthew Miller had just escaped from the Bucks County Prison work release program, when he was spotted by Officer Michael Jachimski.

Matthew Miller stabbed Officer Jachimski when he tried to arrest Miller. Officer Jachimski tried to stun Miller but the inmate jumped into the Officer Jachimski’s police car and took off.

A short time later, the inmate ditched the vehicle and continued running on foot.

He was apprehended two miles away from the stabbing on a playground near an elementary school. Officers have recovered both the vehicle as well as the knife used in the assault.

Miller has been charged with attempted murder as well as other charges. Officer Jachimski is in good spirits and is expected to return to work soon.
