Contra Costa Co. Sheriff’s Office Investigates Sexual Assault Reported In Discovery Bay

An investigation has been launched into a sexual assault reported on Friday in Discovery Bay, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said today.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said deputies were dispatched following a report of a sexual assault at about 6:50 p.m. on Friday in the area of Newport and Clipper drives in the census-designated place of Discovery Bay.

An investigation has been launched and neither the identity of the suspect nor identity of the victim has been released, Lee said.
