Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected of felony assault and attempted robbery at a Petaluma hotel early Wednesday morning. According to Petaluma police, the suspect, Anthony Silva, allegedly assaulted the 26-year-old victim while attempting to rent a room at Motel 6 on North McDowell Boulevard near Old Redwood Highway North at about 4:50 a.m. Silva, who was known to the victim, allegedly became angry when the hotel manager refused him a room.
He then began to hit and kick his companion. While the victim was on the ground, police said Silva allegedly tried to take his wallet, but the victim was able to hang onto it.
