Police arrested one of two suspects who allegedly assaulted and robbed a resident inside a Novato home late Tuesday night. Two masked suspects, possibly armed with handguns, entered the residence in the 1100 block of Third Street around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Novato police Detective Sgt. Michael Howard said. The suspects assaulted the resident and demanded property before leaving, Howard said.
The resident suffered minor injuries in the attack, was able to retreat to another room and contacted police, who then identified Shawn Buckley, 18, of Novato, as one of the suspects, Howard said. Buckley was contacted nearby and was arrested on Eighth Street at about 1:20 a.m. Wednesday. He was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of robbery, burglary, assault with a firearm and violation of probation. The second suspect remains at large, Howard said.
